ACADEMIC
Winsome was Associate Professor at Kingston University from 2005 to 2019 where she was Head of Department in Creative Writing from 2014 to 2017. She has also held posts at Bath Spa University, Royal Holloway, and London Metropolitan University. She was Visiting UNESCO Fellow in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia in 2018.
In 1996/1997 she was Senior Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University, residing at Sidney Sussex College

Winsome held a residencies at Hedgebrook in 2009 and 2017. During the 2017 residency Winsome’s work was presented at the Seattle Women Playwrights’ Festival, Hedgebrook.org.

Chair of the Alfred Fagon Award, 2010 to 2013.
Winsome acted as a judge for the International Playwriting Competition BBC World Service in 2014.
Winsome is a dramaturg for the Royal National Theatre’s New Views programme and has worked in this capacity with the Royal Court Theatre’s international programme, working with writers from southern Africa, including Mongi Monthembeni and Blessing Hungwe and has worked with other early career playwrights who have gone on to achieve productions.
